1834 -  Inhabitants of Wake County, NC say, "Our confidence in the firmness, integrity and patriotism of our venerable President is undiminished; he has our unqualified approbation for his decided and efficent opposition to the federal encroachments on states rights, and that we will make use of all honorable means to sustain him against the assaults of the coalition in the Senate of the United States, consisting of old federalistis, the nullifiers, and the dissappointed aspirants for the presidency."
