Original Matthew Brady Military Officer Photograph
Possible civil war era.
Larger photo than most Matthew Brady photographs that are listed for sale.
The photo is mounted onto the Brady-New York backboard.
Photo measures 7.75" x 10"
With backboard it is 10" x 12.50"
From the Mid 1800's
I don't know who the officer is in the photo.
I have been told that the uniform could be possible be Militia.
Besides that I have no further information but would welcome any info or possible suggestions on the officers identity.
The photograph does have condition issues.
There is browning and toning to the photo. On the chest of the soldier there is a 1" x .5" area where the paper has worn away revealing a white spot. See photos.
Wear throughout the photo and backboard.
It is very important to look at photos and use zoom up option to see the details. I am using the photos as part of my description for the condition of the photograph.
On the back some writing that is just noting dimensions for possible framing.
