    Description

1846 - The State Legislature of Mississippi requests a land grant be made to the State for schools, asking for an amount of land equal to that which the state has been deprived of by the Choctaw Indian Reservation sporeading into the state.  Various townships in Mississippi want to add land from the Choctaw reservation property, and they ask that Congress amend the Indian Treaty of 1830 accordingly.
