    BOSTON GARDEN ARENA SPORTS-NEWS – 1937-1938 SPECIAL RODEO EDITION
    Souvenir program for the 7th annual Boston Garden Rodeo, Oct. 26-Nov. 6, 1937, plus the daily program for November 6 evening laid in loosely.
    It also lists all 149 contestants and their home towns.
    This was the first Boston rodeo not produced by Colonel W.T. Johnson.
    In the wake of the Boston cowboys’ strike in 1936, he lost interest in rodeoing and sold the business.
    Lists the entries for 15 events, including an exhibition of dressage by Major Hiram E. Tuttle on his horse Olympic — “a new sensation for you.”
    The write-up reports that Tuttle introduced dressage at the National Horse Show in 1936 and that this is his first appearance in New England.
    With informative texts on all the other more traditional events—bronc riding (saddle and bareback, cowboy and cowgirl), trick and fancy riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, steer riding, and wild horse race.
    Condition: 36 pp., many photos and other ills. in local ads.
    Covers faded and worn, as shown, but colors are brighter than shown here.
    Front cover loosening.
