    Description

This is really a fantastic clear Ambrotype Image of a New Hampshire soldier Identified by him by putting his last name Cook, Company D, NH Volunteers. I have researched The NH Soldiers and Sailors records. I was able to find a Cook that reflects the age of the this young man. I believe that this may be Herbert E. Cook, who served with the 2nd NH. He was from Winchester, NH and enlisted at the age of 19. Cook served throughout the entire war and mustered out on December 19, 1865. Cook is seated holding his Kepi and proudly displaying his Last name (COOK) Company D. The number in the Infantry Horn is blurred out. I looked at the number and cannot make it out. A little more research and you might be able to figure which Cook it is. (Not Many Cooks at this age). Rare Image with Last name on Cap.
The case is missing its binder. The Ambro Measures 3 x 3.5 inches. Overall in great condition.
