    Description

    Excellent wartime tintype image of soldier in what certainly looks like a CSA pattern and color uniform with kepi in hand.  I have shown this image to several knowledgeable collectors with the consensus that he is Southerner.  That said, bid with the caveat that a knowledgeable collector who has seen it believes it to be a Union soldier. PLEASE view images, ask questions, and show it to your expert before bidding.
    Housed in a full gutta percha dag case that has suffered damage in shipping and though pieces are intact, it is certainly severe damage.
